Australian Asphalt & Pavement Association

Blirt transformed marketing, sales, events, finance and learning management through Salesforce technology.

Context

For over 40 years the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) has been the peak body representing the Flexible Pavement Industry in Australia.

AAPA provide a range of member services including a wide suite of training courses, regular industry events, and technical advice on a national and state basis.

Open to all organisations involved in the industry, AAPA’s membership base includes bitumen suppliers, asphalt producers, sprayed surface operators and equipment suppliers.

Membership also includes Road Authorities and State and Local Governments across Australia.

The Challenge

AAPA needed to refine multiple systems of record into on streamlined process across sales, marketing, events, training and finance.

The Solution

Blirt developed a user centred design approach to delivering a single platform to power: 

 

  • Marketing automation for event promotion and member communication
  • Salesforce CRM to manage customer data
  • Custom Salesforce apps to manage events, membership and training.
  • Deployment of finance automation to automate the entire subscription, contract, invoicing and revenue recognition process
  • A customer community portal where members can view, sign up or pay for events, member specific content, training courses and membership. 

Salesforce CRM & Community APP

The AAPA app is a Salesforce Community Cloud app designed for mobile tablet and desktop environments.

The purpose of the app is to allow members and event attendees to log in to manage their events, training courses and membership details.

 

Automated training platform

A learning management system in the AAPA Salesforce CRM which enabled us to pushed data into AAPA Community Cloud for members to freely access. Members can manage, complete and track their training courses and receive online certifications on successful completion 

Members Directory

During the member application process AAPA administration would load the new members into a custom members directory. This was done with custom development in Visual Force to contain the Salesforce CRM data.

 

Event registration and Scanning

Once Members register for events an account, contact, and opportunity is created in Salesforce.

Barcode Scanning at event doors would create reporting that is generated for individual events showing Members that have attended and total revenue booked events.

Finance automation

Payment facilities were developed in Salesforce CRM that was connected to Beanie that provided integration with the AAPA accounting and finance platforms. Users would be subscribing to an annual Membership and will be renewed in the automated finance system.
